Redmine is such an awesome web app. It is a flexible project management app that was written on the Ruby on Rails framework. It is also open source and released under the terms of the GNU General Public License v2 (GPL). I have been using it for a few days already and I have to say it does exactly what I want. I installed it locally on my dev machine using the BitNami Redmine Stack which provides a one-click install solution for Redmine. You can download installers, virtual machines or run your own Redmine server in the cloud.

Next, if you haven’t been introduced to CodeProject.TV yet I would like to make that introduction. I have watched a few sessions and the quality of the content is superb. If you need to learn something you know little of, I can think of no better place than CodeProject.tv for a direct tech injection. Then if you’re a .net developer, unless you have been living under a rock, you will know that Visual Studio 2013 Preview is available. Robert Green has a nice video on Channel 9.

Lastly, Visual Studio 2012 Update 3 is available for download. According to Microsoft: “Visual Studio 2012 Update 3 contains improvements for project compatibility between Visual Studio 2012 and Visual Studio 2013 Preview, and resolves compatibility issues for Visual Studio 2012 on Windows 8.1“. If you want to use Visual Studio 2012 on Windows 8.1, get Update 3.

It’s Friday, finally! Have a great day! Here is The Daily Six Pack!
